William M. Isbell, MD
Dr. Isbell is a board-certified, fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. His areas of expertise include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee with an emphasis on advanced arthroscopic techniques. Dr. Isbell has authored and co-authored scientific articles and book chapters on various sports related topics including ACL reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, meniscal repair and elbow reconstruction. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroscopy. His clinical and research interests include: arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization, the throwing athlete’s shoulder, ACL reconstruction, cartilage transplantation, and shoulder arthroplasty. He is the head team orthopaedist for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes.
